Description
This hands-on workshop is an introduction to building web and mobile applications on top of ArcGIS Online with ArcGIS API for JavaScript. You will bring your own computer, create an ArcGIS Online trial account, and start building apps right away.

You will learn the basics of hosting your own data in ArcGIS Online and creating GIS services with it, as well as building web maps and leveraging them in your own applications. Through the presentation, you will also be introduced to ArcGIS Online content and the many analytical services that you can use to enrich your apps, as well as specific topics that will help you be more productive with ArcGIS API for JavaScript, such as HTML5 capabilities, setting up your JavaScript development environment, and other resources.

Basic web development skills are a prerequisite to this event.

Who should attend?
Anyone interested in creating web applications on top of ArcGIS. This is an introductory session where application programming techniques will be used. Familiarity with any programming language will help you, although you do not need to be an expert in HTML and JavaScript to join this session.

This workshop will offer a process of performance tuning, testing, and monitoring. The presenters will discuss methodology and tools for analyzing the key performance factors and the root cause of typical performance problems. The roles of testing and benchmarks in capacity planning will also be presented. Users will have access to all exercises and tools covered (e.g., System Designer, Test, Monitor).
