The Conference for GIS in Education, Academia, and the Research Sector
The Esri Education GIS Conference is a forum for GIS users in education, academia, and the research sector. It will be held on October 22 and 23, 2013, in the run-up to the Esri Europe, Middle East, and Africa User Conference (EMEAUC). The forum will focus on the use of GIS at schools and higher education institutions and offer a wide range of activities for teachers, students, university instructors, and other interested audience members.
The Esri Education GIS Conference will kick off with an international Plenary Session. It will be followed by the condensed Lightning Talks, interactive Unconference Sessions, and hands-on workshops. The new conference format will put information sharing and close cooperation front and center as the focus of the event. The language of the conference will be English. The hands-on workshop for educators will be offered in German.

Submissions must be free of advertising. Please bear in mind that the information you provide to us will be published (on the website and in the agenda), so it should not include bullet points, numbering, or large blocks of text set in all capital letters.
The Lightning Talks at the Esri Education GIS Conference will last 10 minutes each and will be held in English. Each Lightning Talk should focus on one main aspect: an idea, a successful project, an invitation to collaborate, or a brief demonstration.
Regular presentations at the EMEAUC will last 20 minutes plus 5 minutes for subsequent Q&A; the speaker can choose the language of the presentation.
In these presentations, you can discuss the goals of your work, report on results and experiences, and offer information that the audience may be able to use.
Presentation submissions will be introduced on the EMEAUC website. All authors will be notified of whether their presentations have been accepted. A detailed overview of the event and the presentations will be provided to participants before the start of the conference. The presentation room will be equipped with a projector, screen, laptop, and Internet connection.
